I heard Mud-Toberfest was canceled.  Is that true?

Every year this same rumor is started and every year we make the same announcement. Mud-Toberfest has not been canceled nor will it be canceled.  It takes place every year rain or shine!

Where do I register for an event?

Registrations for competitive events at Mud-Toberfest and information on Mud-Toberfest as a whole will be available in the tent located beside the High Lifter Retail store in the vendor area at the front of the park. You can also pre-register here at the website if you want to skip the sign-up line and save yourself some time and effort.

What type of clothes do I need?

Mud-Toberfest weather can being extremely varied and at any time it can be extremely dusty, windy, rainy, hot, cold, or muddy. Of course you always want to wear something comfortable, because a Mud-Toberfest day sure seems to last longer than normal one, as well as clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting stained or dirty! Not to mention a few extra options just for a change out if your clothes are wet and/or uncomfortable.

Here’s a brief list of what High Lifter employees have learned to come prepared with:

  • Legs: Comfy jeans or shorts, waders, thermals
  • Feet: Heavy duty but comfortable boots (rain boots, waders, high-top hiking, work boots, or steel toed)
  • Torso: short and long sleeve shirts, a light but sturdy and warm wind breaker, rain poncho, thermals
  • Hands: Gloves (cold weather and/or riding)
  • Head: baseball or watch caps -- not to mention your helmet!

Forgot something? A lot of these items will be offered in the High Lifter store in the vendor area at the front of the park.

What kind of vendors/retailers will be there?

We have a complete list of vendor types that will be available at Mud-Toberfest listed in the Vendor menu on this site. Keep in mind that there are literally thousands of attendees and vendor supplies are usually limited to what they were able to haul out to Mud-Toberfest in their vehicles and/or trailers so don’t wait til the last minute to get that cool shirt you see in only one vendor stall! Supplies sell out faster than you think!

Is there a place for my RV, camper, or tent?

RV spots with hookups are typically sold out each year extremely fast so be sure to contact Mud Creek to find out when the best time will be to jump on a spot for the next year! Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get a spot with hookups, there are tons of acres of camping area available for self-contained campers, RVs, and tents – no reservation required, just come in and find a good spot to setup camp.

Please Note: If you get there early enough to rope off an area for you and your friends, make sure you’re only roping off just what you need. Excessive roped off areas are likely to be removed if too large.

Where should I go if I need some basic toiletries and camping supplies while at Mud-Toberfest?

Jacksonville has several retailers you would normally see anywhere else so don’t be afraid to explore the town while you’re enjoying Mud-Toberfest, but before you run out to a local store for that toilet paper or other essential item be sure to stop by the High Lifter Retail store in the vendor area at the front of the park, we may have exactly what you need. As well as the normal parts and apparel that we usually offer, at Mud-Toberfest we also offer some basic convenience items and camping necessities to save you the time and effort of having to leave the park, find a store, wait in line to purchase, and then wait in line just to get back into the park!

Are there showers and/or toilets?

Mud Creek has stationary showers that are kept as clean as possible throughout the week and there will be a mobile shower available for your convenience as well although fees may apply. There are portable toilets placed throughout the park during this time.

Are there phones available or cell service in the area?

Anybody coming to the park needs to keep cell phones on, however please tell friends and family that they won’t always work due to the number of people that attend and therefore limited cell tower access. Please be mindful and considerate of this fact when using your phone at Mud-Toberfest and try to reduce cell phone usage if possible during this time. Due to the possibility of this ‘congestion’ we suggest you schedule a time with friends/family to check in as there is no way to locate anyone in the park if a family emergency happens and someone requests that we find you.

Will I or my property be safe while attending Mud-Toberfest?

Security and police officers will be on patrol in the campgrounds, parking areas, trails and vendor areas observing for any violation of park or High Lifter attendance rules and policies or other reckless, dangerous, or unlawful behavior. While attending Mud-Toberfest you are subject to all Texas laws. Don’t drink and drive, don’t litter, wear your seat belt while driving outside the park, etc. Make sure all items in your camping area are secured, take keys out of vehicles when parked. We ask that you respect others’ property and always be responsible when operating a vehicle in the park.

Is alcohol allowed?

Yes, however we have an alcohol policy that you should be familiar with before attending:

Attendance at Mud-Toberfest has grown to the point that traffic is frequently congested, and there is a growing concern for safety by High Lifter, sponsors, and participants. As an effort to improve safety there will be NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WHILE RIDING ATVS, RUVs, MOTORCYCLES , or other motorized vehicles, on any property belonging to Mud Creek Offroad Park during Mud-Toberfest. No open container containing an alcoholic beverage will be allowed in possession of a person operating or as a passenger of a motor vehicle.

This policy does not prohibit consumption of alcoholic beverages in campsites or when not riding. It also does not require inspection of ice chests. It is simply an effort to improve safety and decrease the potential for accidents.

Can I ride to the vendor areas?

Yes you can ride to the vendor areas however riding through them is not allowed. Please park your transportation just outside the boundaries of the vendor area and enjoy strolling through on foot instead. This is enforced for everyone’s safety and to allow full uninhibited access to all vendors equally.

Will High Lifter’s Retail store still be open in Shreveport?

Our location in Shreveport will remain open during regular business hours during the event.
